Long Lasting Fire-Retardant Application

Division Bravo has acquired the latest in fire retardant technology by one of the premier fire-retardant manufacturers in the country. Phos-Chek® offers a season-long retardant solution that is successful in slowing, inhibiting, and preventing wildland fuels from volatile combustion, while remaining effective in conditions of up to two inches of rainfall.  The Fortify® line of retardants, offered by Phos-Chek®, has been rigorously tested and certified for use by the United States Forest Service.  Division Bravo is capable of applying the Fortify® fire retardant solution utilizing a mechanical sprayer for large areas or applied through the use of a hand unit for smaller or difficult to access areas around structures.  Unlike emergency use fire retardant, the Fortify® solution does not contain dye and when applied, is clear and not visible.  The Fortify® brand has proven to be safe and effective and notably, environmentally friendly with exception to aquatic life.  At Division Bravo, we offer the application of this highly durable fire retardant, as an affordable and proactive solution to help home and landowners in their efforts in protecting their property and livelihood. Flammable Fuel Modification

At Division Bravo we know the possibility of wildfire can happen anywhere there is an abundance of flammable dry weeds and grass. The modification of flammable fuels by disking or mowing/shredding has been proven to be an effective tactic in wildfire prevention. Reducing or eliminating high density flammable fuels by creating a fuel or firebreak prevents rapid fire spread and reduces intensity.  Division Bravo has made a considerable investment in utilizing new state-of-the-art equipment to be able to provide effective fuel modification by mowing or disking in diverse terrains. Disking will eliminate all flammable vegetation and mowing/shredding will successfully reduce fuel height and density.  A combination of both fuel modification methods will greatly reduce explosive fire spread while also helping to prevent soil erosion.

Debris pile burning, range improvement burns and agricultural control burns are also effective ways to remove flammable vegetation. However, care must be taken to not loose control of vegetation removal fires.  Division Bravo provides planning and stand-by services to make sure debris burns are properly conducted and supervised.

Consultation

Many property owners who live and work in high-risk fire areas or Fire Hazard Severity Zones are required by law to meet certain fire prevention obligations and are subject to compliance inspections.  Some regulations are widely known such as, maintaining up to 100 feet of defensible space and having the appropriate water supply on hand in case of a fire.  Sadly, many property owners have still lost their homes or businesses even after having taken actions to defend their property in the event of a wildfire.  Studies have shown that it is often one overlooked item such a seat cushion, a small pile of wood, or some other seemingly insignificant flammable material that was ignited by a small hot ember from an encroaching wildfire which ultimately contributed to the loss of the home and property.  Relying on over 30 years of firefighting and wildfire experience, Division Bravo can complete a comprehensive inspection on your property and make specific recommendations to enhance your wildfire defenses and better prepare you for your compliance inspection.  If you decide to have either clear fire-retardant spraying and/or fuel modification provided by Division Bravo, our Consultation service is included free of charge.

Education

At Division Bravo, we strongly believe that knowledge is power.  All too often, we learn of devastating outcomes reported by the news media in which people and animals have been seriously injured, or worse, simply due to a lack of awareness and understanding of what to do during a wildfire emergency.  Throughout wildfire season public agencies broadcast the necessity in maintaining defensible space, have an emergency plan, and to heed all warnings to evacuate if instructed to do so.  But what do you do if you receive an evacuation warning too late or your planned travel route is no longer viable? What elements do you need in your emergency plan?  Do you know what the conditions will be like in a wildfire event?  What can you use as an emergency shelter?  Utilizing the expertise of being a State Fire Marshal Certified Instructor, Division Bravo can provide solutions to these issues and more while helping you be better prepared in the event of a wildfire.  Driven by our passion and commitment to educate and help keep communities safe, Division Bravo offers a wildfire education presentation titled, Plan, Prepare and Prevent. Our thorough two-hour seminar will help you assemble a comprehensive plan in the event of a wildfire incident.  Drawing upon 30 years of experience in responding to some of the state’s largest and most destructive wildfires, Division Bravo can help you to develop actions that will put the odds in your favor. This seminar can be held for small or large groups of up to 50 participants.  Allow for at least two weeks for scheduling. Please contact us for more information regarding our seminar services.
